Produce Garden Maintenance Program
In an effort to further promote healthy eating and physical activity among Stratford youth, the Stratford Health Department received a grant from the Stratford Rotary Club to support on-site produce gardens at nine center-based childcare facilities. The Stratford Health Department has partnered with Sterling House to offer three motivated individuals an opportunity to assist with the garden-bed construction and maintenance at the gardens during spring/summer 2019.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must be able to commit to a minimum of 30 hours, work independently, lift a minimum of 20 pounds, and have the ability to get to the garden sites. Volunteers are eligible to receive a stipend of up to $300. Please complete this volunteer form by April 30, 2019.
