Teen Camp Opportunities

We are no longer accepting CIT applications for the 2024 season.

Counselor in Training Program

Sterling House Day Camp is committed to providing older youth and teens with leadership development opportunities. The Counselor-In-Training program creates this opportunity for participants to develop leadership and job skills as well as develop a future source of counselors who have been trained in Sterling House Community Center’s leadership and program methods. The Counselor-in-Training program is designed for teens entering 9th-12th grade.

CITs must enjoy working with children, have a positive attitude, want to learn and practice leadership skills, under close adult supervision, and be good role models for campers working under a camp counselor and other camp staff.

The CIT program costs $100 for the summer.

CITs who successfully complete the program will be given a stipend at the end of the summer as well as verification of service hours.

Upon completion of the CIT program, teens may be eligible to move on to our Junior Counselor Program

The Counselors in Training program emphasizes leadership development, working with young children, skill development, and an opportunity to assist in all areas of camp with confidence.
