LCSW Ashley Hampton returns to the MLK Day discussion this year as a moderator, offering her invaluable experience in mental health.

Erik is the CEO of ConnCORP - Connecticut Community Outreach and Revitalization Program, a subsidiary of ConnCAT designed to explore and implement opportunities for economic development and investment in New Haven.

Jeffrey is Executive Director at the Ruby and Calvin Fletcher African American History Museum. This will be Jeffrey’s third year sharing his experiences and incredible knowledge of history.

Langston is the Athletics & Facilities Manager here at Sterling House Community Center. He works closely with the Stratford’s youth, providing an equitable and enriching environment.

At the Yale School of Music, Lee teaches in the academic-studies area and serves as Director of Equity, Belonging, and Student Life.

Anthony has newly been elected to Stratford’s Town Council representing 5th District. He attended Western Connecticut State University, earning a degree in political science and is currently pursuing his master’s in public administration.

John Ramos is the Assistant Principal of Bunnell High School and the leader of the school’s Men of Color organization as well as the Connecticut State President for National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE). We are excited to welcome John for the second year as an MLK Day Facilitator.

Shia Reid is a 15-year-old freshman at Trumbull High School. She is the President of the Greater Bridgeport NAACP Youth Council and strives to connect and encourage her peers. She is a member of Access Educational Services participating in the annual National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) competition.

Harvard-Educated Attorney Donald Smart has facilitated conversations on “Deconstructing Critical Race Theory” and beyond. This will be Donald’s 3rd year championing our MLK Day event.

Yvonne is joining us again this year as an MLK Day Facilitator. She offers a lens in both education and inclusion as the Supervisor of Equity, Inclusion, and Engagement at Stratford Public Schools.

Kimberly Wilson is the award-winning creator and actor of A JOURNEY: Musical One-Woman Show about the Black experience as told by a Black woman. We are excited for her to perform a snippet from this show as an opener to the morning discussions.
