Who we are.

Sterling House was founded by Cordelia Sterling with the principle that we welcome all. – “adults, children, and young people of the town, without regard to race or religion.”

The Sterling House Board of Directors takes great pride in serving communities that reflect the beauty of diversity in American culture. We embrace the differences amongst those we serve, amongst our staff, and within the vibrant community that helps us thrive.

We believe that everyone is deserving of being treated justly, kindly, and with dignity and heartfelt compassion. We accept the challenges associated with creating an environment that is welcoming, supportive, and meant to be enjoyed by everyone. As such, we are committed to meeting the evolving needs of our community while developing our Board of Directors, Volunteers, Staff, and programs to reflect the diversity, beauty, and exuberance of those we serve.

At Sterling House, we pride ourselves on being responsive to our community’s needs. When we see a need, we seek to fill it. Many know us for our athletics, food pantry, preschool, after school, summer camp, and more. But we are so much more…

We are small but mighty, homegrown yet professional, allowing us an opportunity to be flexible as the needs of our community change.

We lift one another up through everyday hardships.

We care. We connect. We serve.
