Our Food Pantry

Our Food Pantry is open Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm

What do I need to bring to sign up for the Food Pantry?

On your first visit to our Food Pantry, please bring the following:
- Identification
- Reusable bags to carry food/supplies
- You will asked to complete paperwork, as per our partnership with CT Food Bank

Emergency food assistance is provided to individuals and families. A variety of food, toiletries, diapers, and pet food is available. Clients can visit the pantry once per month unless circumstances warrant this to be more often.

Pantry donations can be brought to Sterling House Community Center Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Food-4-Kids

Our Stratford Food-4-Kids Program fills almost 200 bags with six easy-to-make meals and two snacks for children in grades K-12 for them to take home from school each Friday.

This program is a proud partnership between Sterling House Community Center, Sodexo, and Stratford Public Schools.

Do you need a backpack?

Please contact your school’s administrators, school’s guidance counselors, or social workers.

Donations

Individually donate or host a food drive for our Food-4-Kids program! Here is a list of items needed:

Baked beans (easy open tops), Bread – small loaves/rolls, Ramen noodles, Canned vegetables (easy open tops), Chef Boyardee (easy open tops), Poptarts, Canned fruit, Peanut butter & jelly, Canned soup (easy open tops), Mac and Cheese/Easy Mac, Oatmeal, Juice boxes, Cereal

Last year’s Food-4-Kids Fundraiser- you can still donate directly to this program! Label you donation “Food-4-Kids” in the memo section.

Community Christmas

This program is for Stratford families that are in the low to moderate income bracket and are in need of assistance with toys and gifts this season. Register early! Program support is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

How to register

Bring the following items with you to registration:

•Birth certificate for all children you are registering (18 y/o or younger)

•Proof of guardianship if you are the legal guardian

•Verification of income (2022 tax form)

•Verification of address (utility bill)

•Photo ID
